Mike Evans Free Agent Destinations; Odds For Veteran WR
Fact Checked by Nate Hamilton

One of the most dynamic receivers in the NFL over the last decade is about to hit the free agent market for the first time in his 10-year career this offseason, giving teams a veteran to shoot for when the league window opens on April 1.

Five-time Pro Bowl receiver Mike Evans is slated to hit the NFL’s free agent market this year, fresh off a 2023 campaign where the 30-year-old Texas native hauled in 79 catches for 1,255 yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns.

Evans has eclipsed the 1,000-yard plateau in each of his first 10 seasons in the league, all with Tampa Bay, giving him 11,680 receiving yards and 94 touchdowns across 154 NFL games.

The 30-year-old became the first player in NFL history to begin their career with 10 straight seasons with 1,000 yards receiving, while former San Francisco 49ers great Jerry Rice holds the all-time streak (regardless of the point in a player’s career) at 11 seasons.

Whichever NFL team signs Evans this offseason will get a wideout on the cusp of league history, while also possessing the skills needed to dominate opposing secondaries entering his 11th year in the league.

With all that in mind, FloridaBet.com is always thinking with a Florida sports betting mindset and broke down the odds on which NFL team could land Evans this offseason as the former Texas A&M wideout hits the market come April 1.

Where Will Mike Evans Play Next?

The leader in the Evans sweepstakes is still the Bucs’, at -200, as Tampa Bay has just under $37 million in salary cap space (per OverTheCap.com), giving them plenty of room to keep the veteran in their lineup. Evans also gives the Buccaneers playoff chances a major boost. Without him, the Buccaneers player odds would likely take a hit.

Should Evans take his talents elsewhere this offseason, the leaders to land the veteran are the Chicago Bears (+1200), Houston Texans and the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs (+1500).

Rounding out the list to land Evans in 2024 are the New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts and the Arizona Cardinals, all of whom are listed at +2000 to sign the 30-year-old when the NFL free agency window opens in April.

Whichever team signs Evans will get one of the league’s most dynamic pass catchers of the 21st century, while making their quarterback a happy man well before the opening snap of the NFL season takes place.
